Georgi Lone joined the Integrative Mental Health Coach Training Program on April 25, 2021.  I was excited to be part of her journey throughout the program as she demonstrated such passion, knowing, profound insight, and zest for life. 

Unfortunately, I received a phone call from her not long after informing me that she had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and would need to put her studies on hold during treatment.  In her emails to me over the coming months, she was optimistic, positive, and displayed an amazing attitude. She passed on September 7, 2022.

I am so happy to be able to provide this 'pay what you can' scholarship in her honour and memory.  I believe she will watch over you as you make your way through the program modules.

Georgi Michelle Lone

1974 - 2022

Georgi was strong-willed, ready for adventure and saw the depth and beauty in so much that crossed her path.  As a massage therapist, yoga instructor, photographer, triathlete, climber, world traveler and an incredible cook, Georgi’s passion for life was unparalleled. She saw the world through a unique lens, was undeterred by growing into new versions of herself, was a compassionate caregiver and an outspoken advocate for herself and others. She worked hard and knew how vitally important it was to prioritize having fun. Her laugh was beautiful. Georgi’s cancer journey was a courageous one, fighting to live every inch of the way. She was determined, positive, hopeful and without complaint. Georgi lived her life on her own terms, right to the end. 

Georgi Lone was a passionate photographer who loved to share her many adventures around the world.

The Georgi Lone Integrative Mental Health Coach Training Scholarship 

Details for submission

The scholarship is open to candidates worldwide and is offered on a 'pay what you can' basis — then upon completion of the program, you will receive your payment back. The deadline for this year's scholarship is December 30, 2023. The recipient should be prepared to make the tuition payment by January 15th and begin the program within 30 days.

To be eligible, we ask that candidates:

  • complete the application form below
  • discuss your coaching interests with Dr. Nickerson via a phone call
  • demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship
  • write a 600 word essay answering two questions:
  1. How do you already embody aspects of Georgi’s character strengths — to persevere, to recognize beauty and to embrace adventure?
  2. How do you plan to apply these qualities toward the Integrative Mental Health Coach Training Program and your practice once the training is complete?

After you have completed the application form, you will be notified in 48 hours. If your application is approved, a time will then be scheduled to speak with Dr. Nickerson.

To apply for the Georgi Lone scholarship, we ask that candidates meet these criteria:

  • Candidates will only be considered if they have requested and read the information kit
  • Has a passion for mental health and a holistic approach to wellness
  • Feels called to serve others
  • Is a 'citizen in good standing'
  • Has a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Is a conscientious student and can commit to completing the self-paced program within 12 months
  • Is able to demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship
  • Can fulfill the 'pay what you can' financial commitment
  • Provide a 500 word essay answering two questions:

    What personal qualities do you have that you believe contribute to making you a good integrative mental health coach?

    How do you plan to apply these qualities toward the Integrative Mental Health Coach Training Program and your practice once the training is complete?
